Modular Optical Ground Stations
MOGS-40 AND MOGS-20
MOGS-40 and MOGS-20 include 40’ and 20′ containers with storage for dome enclosure and telescope instrumentation.
Industry leaders Mynaric, Sea West, and PlaneWave Instruments partnered to develop the MOGS-40 and MOGS-20 platforms in response to industry demand for a rapidly deployable, turn-key optical ground station. This platform is tailored for the communication and space situational awareness markets.
MOGS-40
The MOGS-40 was designed with stowage in mind for all necessary components to operate a turn-key ground station including the telescope system, optical communication terminal, tracking gimbal, and dome. The stations incorporate a shipping-certified container for easy transportation between locations and require minimal site infrastructure requirements.
Rapid deployment of the MOGS-40 platform is enabled through the Sea West custom-designed gimbal solution, which utilizes HMI controls for precision pier alignment and instrument isolation at the touch of a button. Isolation of the sensitive optical equipment from vibrations is crucial to ground station performance.
Contained within the shipping certified MOGS-40 is a PlaneWave Instruments dome enclosure, PlaneWave 0.7-meter optical telescope, and Mynaric’s RHINO Mk2 Optical Ground Terminal.
